Dental Hygienist: Part-Time
Description
Under the direction of the Dental Director, The Dental Hygienist must be able to prepare patients for treatment, conduct preventive care treatment, and document issues that come up as a result of dental exams. Additional duties include removing plaque from and polishing patients' teeth during routine checkups, screening patients, reviewing patients' oral health histories, and teaching appropriate brushing and flossing techniques. Utilizing X-ray machines to make pictures of teeth and developing film for the Dentist's analysis will also be required.
Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and usually need to have excelled in biology, chemistry, math and health courses. Should have an Associate's degree in related discipline or Bachelor's degree before applying. The graduate must pass the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination, which is a comprehensive written examination.
