Dr. Nathaniel Augustus Barber, M.D.

Internal Medicine

Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, Dr. Barber has served the patients of Metropolitan Family Health Network since 2006.

Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, Dr. Barber earned his Bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York and his medical degree from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. He served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Kings County Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he also completed his fellowship in Cardiology.

Dr. Barber was an Attending Physician at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City from 1983 to 1985. He then went on to serve as Attending Physician in the Department of Medicine for the Jersey Medical Center where, from 1985 to 2006, he provided direct patient care and supervised and taught residents in outpatient and in-patient care. He has also been a preceptor for Nurse Practitioner programs of Pace University, Columbia University and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Barber has also been involved in several health outreach and screening programs within the Hudson County community.
