Dr. Genevieve Nwigwe, M.D.
Dr. Nwigwe earned her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria. She served her internship at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital where she cared for admitted and ambulatory patients in Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn and Surgery. Dr. Nwigwe was also a Preventive Medicine Practitioner at Ahiazu Community Health Center in Imo State, Nigeria. As a resident at Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria, Dr. Nwigwe provided patients with primary care services.
From 2006-2009, Dr. Nwigwe served an Internal Medicine residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City - New York Medical College.
Dr. Nwigwe holds a Master in Public Health degree from UMDNJ. Prior to joining Metropolitan Family Health Network, she was a physician at Environmental and Occupational Health Science Institute, UMDNJ - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and Attending Physician in Adult Medicine at Neighborhood Health Services Corporation in Plainfield, NJ.
She enjoys spending quality time with family, traveling and reading. She is fluent in English, Nigerian Igbo and Yoruba. Not long ago, Dr. Nwigwe embarked on a volunteer medical mission to Nigeria.
